Distributors and Top Projects Recognized at Profile Products’ Annual Awards

February 27, 2025

Profile® Products celebrated several distributors at the company’s annual awards banquet. This exclusive event serves as a celebration of achievement and innovation within the industry, recognizing the exceptional contributions professionals have made throughout the year.

“Every year, our distributor partners find new ways to advance the erosion control and revegetation industries with their service and solutions,” said Adam Dibble, vice president of global environmental solutions. “Their expertise and commitment to solving site-specific challenges is commendable. We are proud to recognize their work and celebrate the vital role they play in creating greener solutions for every environment.”

The 2025 “Project of the Year” award recipient is Bowman Construction Supply for their work on The Scar Reclamation in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Pikeview Quarry was in operation for more than 100 years and provided essential raw materials for the concrete that built the Olympic City. In 2018, the mine closed with plans to amend The Scar using multiple products and innovative solutions. Biotic Soil Technologies (BSTs), including ProGanics® DUAL™, were a necessary component on the 125-acre site to incorporate organic matter into the soil while providing erosion control benefits. BSTs have revolutionized the erosion and sediment control industry by providing renewable alternatives to improve denuded soils or replace costly topsoil to create a more favorable growing environment for faster, more complete vegetative growth. In addition to amending the soil, hydraulically applied erosion control products like ProMatrix™ EFM were used to keep the seed and soil in place. This project highlighted how best management practices established vegetation and turned The Scar green.

Additionally, this year’s “International Project of the Year” award winner is PT Green Planet for their work on the Weda Bay Nickel Mine on Ternate Island in Indonesia. As one of the largest nickel mines in the world, workers needed to rehabilitate some of the mined areas and haul roads. Following onsite consultation, training and soil testing, it was clear the ProFlex™ System would be the most effective way to restore the area. The ProFlex System employs ProGanics® Biotic Soil Media to amend the soil for more favorable growth and Flexterra® High Performance-Flexible Growth Medium® as a superior erosion control product to hold seed and soil in place. While the work is ongoing, the restoration efforts have proven effective with the establishment of new vegetation.

“Project of the Year” award winners are selected based on the size and scope of the project, the quantity and variety of Engineered Specified Products (ESPs) used, the effort required to write the specifications and the amount and severity of obstacles to overcome.

“The ‘Project of the Year’ winners represent the best of what’s possible when innovation, expertise and dedication come together,” said Dibble. “Bowman Construction Supply and PT Green Planet took on challenging conditions and applied resilient solutions that proved successful on these sites and set a precedent for future projects. The distributors and contractors that worked together on these projects exemplify what it means to be top professionals in our industry.”
