Profile's Paul Gonzalez Named Vice President of Iberoamerican Chapter of IECA
Paul Gonzalez, International business manager for PROFILE Products LLC, was recently named vice president of the Iberoamerican chapter of the International Erosion Control Association (IECA).
Gonzalez, who joined Profile in 2008, has helped expand the U.S. company’s reach in the Central, South American and Caribbean erosion and sediment control markets. He recently teamed with other Profile representatives in exhibiting at the IECA Iberoamerican Congress and Expo, held in Panama. Around 300 attendees, representing more than 15 countries, participated in the educational courses and the tradeshow.
“This was a valuable event for us in terms of building relationships and better understanding the challenges faced in erosion control in this part of the world,” Gonzalez said. “It is an honor to be named vice president of this wide-reaching chapter, and I very much look forward to working with other members to further the goals of the IECA.”
The Iberoamerican chapter boasts a wide geographical reach, with representatives from South America, Central America, the Spanish Caribbean countries, as well as Spain and Portugal.
As part of the Congress and Expo, Gonzalez presented two technical papers: the first highlighted project success with hydraulic mulch applications on the Colon Highway in Panama City; and the second touted Profile’s commitment to Green Design Engineering™ and its online soil solutions software at www.profileps3.com.
“We’re proud that Paul has taken on the responsibility to be a leader in this organization and that he has committed to helping the Iberoamerican chapter,” said Wally Butman, Profile’s vice president of distribution and international sales. “He has done an outstanding job to further education and understanding of erosion control methods in that market, which is in line with the goals and objectives of the IECA.”
